Installation

Unpacking the Refrigerator

When unpacking your new Tricity Bendix refrigerator, carefully remove all packaging materials to prevent any damage to the appliance. Check the box for any additional items such as manuals, accessories, or installation parts. Ensure that parts like shelves, drawers, and doors are secure to prevent shifting during transport. It's important to inspect the refrigerator thoroughly for any visible damage before proceeding with the installation process. Keep all packaging materials in case you need to return the item.

Choosing the Right Location

Select a location that allows for proper airflow around the refrigerator, pivotal for efficient operation and longevity. Leave at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space on all sides of the unit to ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources such as ovens, radiators, or direct sunlight since this can affect the cooling efficiency. Ensure the floor is sturdy enough to support the weight of a full refrigerator and is leveled to ensure proper function after installation.

Electrical Requirements

Before plugging in the refrigerator, confirm that the electrical outlet provides 220-240 volts at 50Hz, the standard for most Tricity Bendix models. The outlet should be grounded, and the circuit should be single-phase. Avoid using extension cords as they might not provide sufficient power, leading to operational issues. Leveling the Refrigerator

Connecting the Water Supply

Attach a water line from your water source to the refrigerator’s inlet valve using a copper or high-pressure plastic tube. Once connected, restore the water supply and check for any leaks at the connection points. Ensure that the water supply line is free from kinks that could impede water flow.

First-Time Startup Instructions

After the refrigerator is in place and connected, plug the appliance into the electrical outlet. Set the temperature controls as recommended in the user manual, typically between 37°F (3°C) and 40°F (4°C) for the refrigerator compartment. Depending on the model, it may take up to 24 hours for the refrigerator to reach the optimal temperature. Avoid placing food inside until the compartment has cooled sufficiently to preserve freshness and prevent spoilage.
